Kansas Art Schools
Change is in the air among Kansas' colleges and universities. That's because of the new Come Home to Kansas initiative, a program developed by the state's development agencies to draw creative professionals to the state. Indeed, there are plenty of graphic arts, Web development, and arts-related job opportunities. In Wichita alone, nonprofit arts organizations generated over $49.1 million in economic activity last year; the arts are big business here. And Garmin, the producer of GPS devices, made an investment in Kansas' high tech industry by locating their headquarters here.
Why Kansas Counts
Kansas offers art and design school students quite a rich quality of life, which is why Kiplinger ranks Kansas City sixth on its list of the 50 Smartest Cities, and Forbes placed Wichita second on its list of Best Cities for Jobs in 2008. Wichita's job and income growth rates are both in the nation's top ten. Clearly, Kansas offers excellent career training and much more.
